Transformative Tea Towel Collection - Effie Burns

For her Tea Towel design Effie used specially made inks from rose leaves and petals and the shaggy inkcap mushroom.

Effie's tactile and textured works made in glass often use everyday natural objects.  Like an alchemist she transforms them through the traditional techniques of casting, gilding and engraving into unique miniatures which fit into the palm of your hand. 

Effie was born in Sheffield and lives and works in North Yorkshire, UK. She has an MA in Art in Context and BA (Hons) 3D Design (glass with Ceramics) University of Sunderland.
