This is a surreal reimagining of the Genesis tale. Everything is slightly off-kilter. The serpent offers the fruit to Adam rather than Eve, and the apples are warped like pears and look as if they are ready to burst. I wanted the scene to feel primordial, with the sky an apocalyptic yellow and the earth a muddy, reddish brown. I am not religious, but I feel the Biblical stories are so packed with intense symbolism and are interesting to warp and play around with in this way.
