Hand dyed green silk and hand screen printed imagery using a discharge print process. There is some variation in how the imagery comes out due to variables in the process, making no two quite the same. This design was developed as part of my graduate collection many moons ago. The back is a plain brown linen with an invisible zip across the bottom.
About the Artist
Caitlin Hinshelwood lives and works in London. She produces distinctive collections of illustrative, hand-worked, printed textiles with an accomplished use of colour. Traditional methods and processes for textile screen-printing and dyeing are central to her work. She is interested in how textiles can be used to communicate and how they can act as repositories of personal or social history.
