After her successful show in Twickenham in August as part of ‘12 Weeks, 12 Artists,’ Effie’s wonderful glass creations return. We are displaying a series of her new works, including some made from natural objects foraged in Twickenham.

During my residency at Lion House in the Summer I went foraging in York House Gardens where I discovered the very first acorns of the year, along with some unusual Japanese citrus fruits and beautiful berries. I continued to the river and opposite Orleans House I found the first conkers of the season.

This bounty travelled back with me across the moors to my clifftop studio in Whitby where I transformed it into a small series of unique new pieces, using a beautiful clear crystal from Germany. I then gilded areas with 23.5 carat deep gold leaf and 22.5 champagne gold leaf. I enjoy using ancient techniques to create contemporary pieces that are made to be held in the palm of your hand.
