The natural world continues to inform my practice in surprising new ways. While attending a class called ‘Crystal Kingdoms’ in a Bavarian forest last summer I began the process of collecting small natural objects from cobnuts to acorns, things that had fallen onto paths and could easily have been trampled on or forgotten. On my return to England, I continued to collect, the clusters began to reflect trips to stately homes, or walks in the park. They also began to say something about the weather too, finding mushrooms in unexpected places. They have evolved to become the ‘Archimboldo’ series.
